Jane Considine Architect.jpeg

We met in the School of Architecture, Richview, UCD.

After graduation in 1990, a Portuguese and an Irish Architect, we each spent our first years as trainee architects in the Office of Álvaro Siza Vieira in Oporto, Portugal and went on individually to work with other architectural design practices in Oporto, Carlos Castanheira & Clara Bastai, Arquitectos Lda, Manuel Botelho Arq., and José Luís Carvalho Gomes Arq. Our work together is greatly influenced by our early training in Oporto.

At this time, we also undertook independent architectural commissions together, including private houses, the Television Studio for Panavideo in Lisbon, and feasibility work for a housing development near Braga.

Returning to Dublin in 1996, Jane worked for Martin Lynch O’Toole Architects on projects including home interiors, an apartment development in Ballsbridge and public housing in Drogheda. Following this Jane took a professional break, then came back to architecture to work on new architectural commissions for individual houses and extensions and housing developments. Having a particular interest in old and historic buildings Jane completed her Grade III Conservation Accreditation in 2015.

In Dublin, Tiago worked for Newenham and Mulligan & Assoc. in the role of project architect, working on a variety of institutional, residential, commercial and public projects. At this time Tiago began working as a tutor in the school of Architecture in UCD, which he continues to do. Subsequently Tiago moved to Carew Kelly Associates to work on commercial retail projects and private houses. Tiago completed a Masters Degree in Architecture in 2013.

We began to work together formally as a practice in Dun Laoghaire in 2001 and since that time have completed many private residential refurbishments, home extensions and one-off houses. Our principal area of work has continued to be one-off private homes; however, we also undertake commercial and institutional work, feasibility and conservation studies, interiors and furniture design.
